Device Login for Browserless MCP Clients

Compatible MCP clients that cannot open a browser can use OAuth device login instead of storing a long-lived API key.

Complete a Device Login

1. Start the connection in your MCP client.
2. Copy the eight-character device code and open the verification URL shown by the client in a browser.
3. Sign in to WordPress if prompted, enter the code, and continue.
4. Review the requested permissions and approve or deny the connection.
5. Return to the MCP client. It keeps polling while authorization is pending and finishes connecting automatically after approval.

The code expires after 10 minutes. If it expires, restart the connection to receive a new code. Never approve a code you did not initiate yourself.

Troubleshooting

• Keep the MCP client running while you approve the request, because it polls every few seconds for the authorization result.
• If approval succeeds but the client stops waiting, restart the connection and complete the new code.
• If the verification page does not load, confirm you are opening your WordPress verification URL (it includes easy_mcp_ai_oauth=device) and not a client-account login page.
