Send Service Emails with AI

Easy MCP AI can send plain-text service emails through your WordPress site's mailer. This tool sends service notices, not marketing emails, and is switched off by default.

Enable access

An administrator must switch on the email tool before an AI client can use it:

  1. In WordPress, go to Easy MCP AI > Settings.
  2. In the Advanced card, find Disabled tools.
  3. Clear the checkbox for wp_send_email, then click Save changes. If a deployment setting locks this choice, change that setting instead.
  4. Refresh the tool list in your AI client.

The WordPress user behind the connection must have the manage_options capability. OAuth connections must also include the mcp:mail:write permission. If an existing connection does not include it, reconnect and approve the requested access. See Managing OAuth Access.

Choose recipients and write the email

Provide a subject, a plain-text message, and at least one recipient source:

  • user_ids: WordPress user IDs.
  • roles: WordPress roles.
  • emails: email addresses.
  • admin: true: the site's configured administrator email address.

The subject can contain up to 200 characters, the message up to 5,000 characters, and each call can include up to 50 unique recipients. HTML messages are refused. Easy MCP AI sends a separate email to each recipient, so recipients do not see one another's addresses.

An address that does not belong to a user on the site and is not the configured administrator address requires a person to approve that exact call. This restriction still applies if approvals are turned off, the tool is exempted from approval, or the connection uses an unattended key.

Review and approve before sending

When Ask before destructive actions is on under Easy MCP AI > Settings > Access & safety and no approval exemption applies, each email call pauses for approval. Review the full subject, message, and recipient list before approving. If the complete call cannot be shown in the approval preview, it is refused.

For example, ask the AI to prepare a plain-text maintenance notice for the site's administrator address and wait for your review before sending it.

Check results and avoid duplicate sends

Review accepted, not_accepted, and the result for each recipient. accepted means WordPress handed the email to its mailer; it does not confirm that the message reached an inbox.

Do not automatically repeat a call for recipients marked accepted. A retry can send them another email. If you need to retry, check the per-recipient results and limit the retry to recipients whose messages were not accepted.
